STE (Milano) Receiver

STE (Milano) Receiver

I recently acquired a homebrew transceiver from the Angel of the North Radio Rally.  It’s a 2m / 145MHz FM unit with crystal control, that outputs a heady 1W of RF.  Crystals are installed for the local repeaters and simplex channels used in the 1980’s, when people actually used 2m before upgrading to a class A license.

If you click on the pictures, you’ll be able to get a better view of the boards…although for some reason they seem to rotate 90 degrees when you do that in Chrome!

Whilst it may be in working order, I’d like to get hold of the schematics for it if possible.  I’ve tried Google, the font of all knowledge, without success so far.  The separate transmitter and receiver boards were made by STE ELETTRONICA TELECOMUNICAZIONI (Milano) in Italy, and used to be advertised in Short Wave Magazine during the late 70’s and early 80’s if I remember correctly.

If you have any information that could help, please drop me a line using the ‘contact’ form on this website.

Update as of July 2017: I have now been provided with scans of the two boards I have…I’ll gladly share them with anyone that needs them.  STE did used to do a 10W amplifier to go with the transmitter.  Has anyone any information on that?
